Der Ferrari 250 GT Coupé Pinin Farina s/n #1743 GT wurde vom berühmten Ferrari-Vertreter Eleanor/John von Neumann in Beverly Hills an Willy-Peter Dätwyler, einem Zürcher Gentleman-Rennfahrer, der in den USA reich wurde, ausgeliefert.
Der Preis für das rennmässig konfigurierte Auto betrug USD 12'000. Der Motor ist eine Competition-Variante mit höherer Verdichtung, spitzeren Nockenwellen, Weber-Vergaser 40 DCL6, Sperrdifferential und servo-assistierten Dunlop-Scheibenbremsen. Im Foglio Montaggio Motore steht: "Motore competizione con distribuzione 128 F". Zusätzlich wurde ein zentraler Marchal-Scheinwerfer montiert und das Cavallino Rampante im Kühlergrill versetzt.
Das Fahrzeug hat Matching Numbers Motor & Getriebe. Es wurde aufwändig restauriert und in die Matching Colors von "Grigio Argento MM 16003" mit Leder-Interieur Connolly "Pelle Rossa VM 3171" zurückversetzt und erhält nun durch die Niki Hasler AG die Ferrari Classiche Zertifizierung. Es sind zahlreiche Originaldokumente, wie die Betriebsanleitung, der Ersatzteil-Katalog, die Garantie-Karte, und eine ausführliche Dokumentation der Restauration vorhanden.
Road&Track liess ein 250 GT Coupé Pinin Farina im Juni 1960 durch Phil Hill, den späteren Ferrari-F1-Weltmeister, testen. Dieser schreibt:
"It's a car for those who know, and appreciate, the difference (to a less expensive GT) and can afford to pay. A man or women (the car is so easy to drive that it can be, and is driven every day by women) who savours the sound, the feel, the stability and performance of a car like this will consifer the money it costs well spent. This is a car designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, and it shows."
