The story of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione began at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, where Alfa Romeo unveiled the 8C Competizione concept. Its name was a deliberate nod to the marque's legendary eight-cylinder racing cars of the 1930s, whic hwon the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row from 1931 to 1934. 

The response was so overwhelming that a limited production run of 500 8C Competizione followed, with orders far exceeding supply. In 2008, Alfa Romeo unveiled the open-top 8C Spider at the Geneva Motor Show, and production began in 2009, entrusted to Maserati in Modena. Its carbon-fibre body, mounted on a steel chassis, draws on some of the most celebrated designs in Alfa Romeo history, most notably the 33 Stradale and Giulia TZ.

At the heart of the 8C Spider lies an all-aluminium, naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 from the Ferrari/Maserati F136 engine family, delivering an impressive 444 hp at 7'000 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed automated gearbox with a twin-plate clutch, operated via paddle shifters. Beyond its timelessly beautiful design, the 8C Spider is celebrated above all for the breathtaking, deeply emotional sound of its V8.

Today, the 8C holds a special place in Alfa Romeo’s history. It marked the brand’s return to building true, rear-wheel-drive sports cars and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful automobiles of its generation. With its carbon-fibre body, naturally aspirated V8-engine and strictly limited production, it has become a highly sought-after modern classic.

It is finished in special colour Grigio Magnesio, complemented by an electric soft top in Red and brake calipers in Nero. This car bears the number 180 of a limited series of 500 examples. Having covered just 5'550 km to date, it is offered with all original documents, as well as various original invoices and correspondence.
