The two open-top Ferrari models presented below are likely to become coveted collector's items in the near future, as they perfectly embody Ferrari's classic spider approach and 12-cylinder philosophy.
The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is the limited edition spider version of the 550 Maranello. The design is by Lorenzo Ramaciotti at Pininfarina. Commissioned by Luca Di Montezemolo, “Barchetta” is reminiscent of Ferrari's early Spiders, which were often successful in racing, while ‘Pininfarina’ commemorates the designer's 70th anniversary. The 550 Barchetta offers only two seats and a foldable “emergency” fabric roof. The model was unveiled at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. Only 448 units were produced, each of which was numbered. The classic 5.5-liter V12 front engine delivers 485 hp at 7,000 rpm.

The Ferrari 575 Superamerica was presented at the 2005 Los Angeles Motor Show. The addition of “Superamerica” is reminiscent of early Ferrari luxury cars that were built primarily for the US market. Pininfarina designer Leonardo Fioravanti was responsible for the design. Only 559 units were built. The model is exceptional with its innovative Revocromico glass roof, which can be electrochromatically dimmed and transforms the convertible into a coupé in seconds. It was the first production vehicle to feature this technology. With a displacement of 5.75 liters, the V12 front engine delivers an impressive 533 hp at 7,250 rpm.
