Unveiled in May 2019 and named in honour of the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale opened an entirely new chapter in Maranello’s history. It was Ferrari’s first series-production plug-in hybrid, its first sports car with all-wheel drive, and the first time a V8-engined model took its place at the very top of the Ferrari range.

At its heart lies a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 780 hp, at the time the most powerful eight-cylinder in Ferrari history. It is complemented by three electric motors, one between the engine and the eight-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox and two on the front axle, which together add 220 hp for a combined output of 1'000 hp and 800 Nm. The electrically driven front axle not only provides all-wheel traction but also allows independent torque vectoring between the front wheels, sharpening the car’s response through every corner. With a dry weight of 1'570 kg and a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.57 kg/hp, the SF90 Stradale accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and to 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 340 km/h, while generating up to 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.

Yet the SF90 Stradale is just as remarkable for its versatility. Four driving modes, eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify, allow it to transform from a near-silent electric car into an uncompromising track machine at the touch of a button. Its 7.9 kWh battery enables up to 25 km of purely electric driving, ideal for leaving town quietly in the early morning. It also introduced several innovations to Ferrari’s road cars, including matrix LED headlights and a keyless key.

Ferrari also offered its customers the choice of a more focused, track-oriented specification: the Assetto Fiorano package, named after Ferrari’s own test circuit in Maranello. Its centrepiece is a set of Multimatic shock absorbers derived directly from GT racing, which provide more precise body control and an even more immediate connection between car and driver at the limit. Extensive use of high-performance materials, including carbon-fibre door panels and underbody, titanium springs and a full titanium exhaust system, saves 30 kg, sharpening the car’s agility, braking and acceleration even further. A high-downforce carbon-fibre rear spoiler and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, developed specifically to maximise grip on dry circuits, complete the package. The result is the purest and most uncompromising expression of the SF90 Stradale, and the specification most sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike.

This Ferrari SF90 Stradale "Assetto Fiorano" is finished in Grigio Ferro Metallizzato 790 over a Charcoal 4304 interior with Nero Alcantara carpets, an understated yet purposeful combination that perfectly underlines its technical character.
