Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 1973, the Dino 308 GT4 marked a turning point in Ferrari's history. It was the first production Ferrari to adopt the mid-engined V8 layout that would go on to defeine the company's road cars for decades, and also its first mid-engined 2+2.

Breaking with two decades of near-exclusive collaboration with Pininfarina, its crisp, wedge-shaped lines were penned by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, making it the only production Ferrari designed by the Turin coachbuilder. At its heart sits a 3.0-litre V8, later carried over to the 308 GTB.

Initially, Dino 308 GT4 was sold under the Dino name, which Ferrari had used to distinguish its non-V12 models, and the early cars carried no Prancing Horse at all. Later cars received Ferrari badging, while the Dino 308 GT4 script remained on the boot lid. A total of 2'826 examples were built until production ended in 1980.

This Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 is presented in Matching Colours, painted in Oro Chiaro Metallizzato 633-4-015 with a wonderfully patinated interior in Pelle Beige VM 3218 Connolly leather and Panno Marrone fabric.

It was delivered new in December 1979 as a direct factory sale to its first owner, Mr. Trequadrini, in Caracas, Venezuela.

In 2023, Niki Hasler AG sourced the car for its current custodian and subsequently refinished it in its original colour.

It retains various original invoices and documents, as well as the all-important Ferrari Classiche certification. Furthermore, it is offered fresh from an annual service and emissions test and holds a Swiss veteran title.
