First presented at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari 308 GTB succeeded the Dino 246 GT as Maranello's mid-engined two-seat sports car. Its name reflects the heart of the car: a 3.0-litre V8 mounted behind the cabin. Penned by Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina, its sleek and perfectly proportioned lines became instantly iconic, while a near-perfect weight distribution gave it the balance and agility expected of a true Ferrari. Combining striking beauty with engaging driving dynamics, the 308 GTB was an immediate success and remains one of hte most recognisable Ferraris of its era.
The earliest cars were notable for their lightweight fibreglass bodies, built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti and known as "Vetroresina", the first composite bodies ever offered on a production Ferrari. In 1977, production shifted to traditional steel bodywork, which added around 150 kg but proved better suited to growing demand.
The Ferrari 308 GTB offered here is finished in its original colour combination of Argento Auteil 106-E-1, elegantly paired with a VM 8500 Pelle Nera Connolly leather interior and Nero carpets.
A steel-bodied example, this 308 GTB is presented in stunning original condition, wearing a beautiful patina that speaks to its authenticity. Remarkably, it retains its original leather document pouch, complete with the original warranty and service booklet. It is offered with the highly regarded Ferrari Classiche certification.
