At the 82nd Members' Meeting in Goodwood, the Swiss-owned Ferrari Dino 206S s/n 028 started last (the race had been interrupted by a red flag) and crossed the finish line first. Frank Stippler literally plowed through the entire field of competitors and was able to overtake the Ford GT40s driven by Rob Huff and André Lotterer, both well known for their speed, in the final laps. Co-driver David Franklin, who has been racing cars for 61 years, said of the Ferrari racing car: “It's very fast, delivers over 300 hp from two liters of displacement and weighs only 600 kg, so the power-to-weight ratio is very, very good... At high speeds, it gets a little ‘hairy fairy’ (which probably means unstable), but in slow and medium-speed corners, the car is very good. When Ferraris are properly tuned, they feel comfortable. This one is no exception.”
